John Gliem, with his spirited and dynamic personality, is the General Manager of the highly successful automotive dealership, Toyota of Tampa Bay. John has operated in that capacity since 2008 and has brought the store such commendable awards as the Toyota President’s Award and Toyota Parts and Service Excellence Recognition. The dealership ranks in the top 75 of Toyota stores in the country and is well known in the Tampa area not only for providing outstanding customer service but also for the many acts of community service they participate in. John’s leadership abilities have provided his employees with an outstanding workplace while supporting their entrepreneurial ideas and allowing them to grow with the company. As the flag-ship store of the Morgan Auto Group, Toyota of Tampa Bay continues, under John’s enthusiastic guidance, to embrace the best of automotive practices and afford the ultimate automotive experience for its clientele.

Originally from Trenton, New Jersey, John served in the US Army, attended the University of Maryland and, in 1978 embarked in a career in the automotive industry. John relocated to Florida, and although he enjoys frequent visits to his New Jersey hometown, is happy to now call the Tampa Bay area his home. He is involved in a number of community interests including Morton Plant Hospital, Transitions PGA Golf Tournament, Junior Achievement, Birdies for the Brave, Wheels of Success, Metropolitan Ministries and Operation Homefront Florida.

John’s personal interests revolve around sports and helping to enhance the lives of youngsters. He shares that interest as he provides support for many local children’s sport groups. Another example of John’s concern and care for children is the Perfect Car for Perfect Attendance Giveaway held on June 25 at and by Toyota of Tampa Bay. As a way of rewarding excellence and good performance John initiated and carried out this fabulous give-away of a brand new 2011 Scion XD to a local student with perfect attendance. This was a great event which drew much attention and support from the Toyota Tampa Bay/Morgan Auto Group team and the community.
John exhibits an untiring commitment to his job, his family and his community and is very willing to share his time and talent with all continually helping to advance Toyota of Tampa Bay and the Tampa Bay area.
