Always up for a challenge, Jillian Thompson is thrilled to have been selected to compete in Tampa Bay’s “Dancing with the Stars”. The performing bug bit Jillian early in life. As a child, she performed in many local productions including The Spanish Lyric Theater’s production of “Annie Get Your Gun”; The Showboat Dinner Theater’s production of “The Sound of Music” in which she played Brigitta; and she played the coveted title role in Clearwater’s Royalty Theater’s production of “Annie”. As a young teen, Jillian was a cast member of Tampa’s Entertainment Revue and she loved performing for charity and corporate events all over the state.
After attending University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she majored in Musical Theater, Jillian followed her heart to Los Angeles. In the several years she spent in Hollywood, she appeared in many TV shows, recorded her original music, and found a niche in doing voice‐overs…most notably becoming the original voice of “Jade” when MGA Entertainment brought the Bratz Dolls to life.
Although she enjoyed the entertainment industry, Jillian is a natural entrepreneur. The former Bloomingdale High School All American Cheerleader started the Los Angeles All Stars Cheerleading Squad and quickly took her fledgling group from inexperienced novices to a national title.
In 2007, Jillian returned to the Tampa Bay area where she began a career in the hospitality industry at the Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach. While at The Don, she planned hundreds of weddings and corporate events before being hired as a Catering Manager by the Tampa Wyndham Westshore. Today, Jillian is back in St. Pete Beach as the Catering and Special Events Director of the popular Postcard Inn on the Beach. She loves being part of the vibrant and creative team that’s bringing retro chic and surfer cool to a new level of sophistication. More importantly, she loves having the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people who truly care about the community and who, through their charities, are having such a positive impact on so many.
Jillian would like to thank the Postcard Inn for their enthusiastic sponsorship of this event. She also sends a big hug and thanks to her many friends and her wonderful family and their business, D’Lites Emporium for their support and contributions to these deserving charities.
