Hands Across the Bay’s mission is to support programs, organizations and individuals whose objectives and efforts are dedicated to improving the quality of life in Tampa Bay. Our goal is to touch the lives of as many Bay Area residents as possible.
Our nation has a long and rich tradition of people coming together to solve problems and enrich their communities. Realizing that non-profit organizations are a crucial part of our society, providing help to the needy, raising funds for good causes and those in need, Hands Across the Bay was formed to give us the ability to do just that and more!
Hands Across the Bay’s efforts range from simple acts of kindness such as paying an electric bill to hosting signature Black Tie events, such as Dancing with the Stars Tampa Bay, which bring together many members of the community generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of local charities.
Additional community support comes through an in-kind donation program, “Gold and Diamond Source Gives Back.” A piece of jewelry and/or a designer gown from Entrada Couture is chosen that best suits the event maximizing funds raised for the benefiting organization. Through this program, the mission of 4 to 10 deserving charities each week are currently being supported, allowing Hands Across the Bay to make daily differences in lives across Tampa Bay.
Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc. is a non-profit organization of concerned individuals whose mission is to improve the quality of life for foster children and foster families. After years of involvement in areas of direct service for children that have been abused, neglected or abandoned, this group of community leaders decided that an organization was needed that could focus on areas of service that are less directly funded by the state or federal government, yet still provided support in areas of critical need and life improvement. Raising funds and developing resources, both in-kind and monetary, that directly affect these areas of critical need is the primary focus of Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc.
The Pepin Academies, Inc. is a tuition-free, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the educational needs of students with identified learning and learning related disabilities. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, The Pepin Academies serves students from kindergarten to twenty-two years of age, and focuses on the individual learning obstacles and styles of children whose academic experience, as well as their feelings of self worth, have been seriously hampered. As a 21st century schoolhouse, the use of technology, team learning, multiple intelligences training, cross-age tutoring, and a workplace environment prepares students to enter the new century with confidence and high skills.
