Rob Shaw holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where he graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics Engineering.  He is a 2008 graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking.  After graduation from West Point he served for 3 years in the U.S. Army where he was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS and Ft. Hood, TX.  He also served for 2 years in the Army National Guard. 

In 1998 Rob joined AmSouth Bank and completed their Management Associate Training program in Birmingham, AL.  After completing his training, Rob joined AmSouth’s Commercial Banking Group in Tampa as a credit analyst.  In 2000 Rob was promoted to a lender and moved from the Tampa market to Pinellas County. 

In 2002 Rob joined Northern Trust as the commercial and private banker of their new office in Belleair Bluffs.  In this capacity he was able to broaden his commercial and industrial lending skills with a fair amount of private banking experience.

In 2004 Rob had the opportunity to join Signature Bank as the Area Executive for the bank’s new Clearwater office.  In this capacity Rob helped put together a team of bankers who successfully expanded the Bank’s presence throughout the Clearwater market.  The primary focus was on small business banking, but the Bank also did a fair amount of commercial real estate lending.  Rob continued to work for Whitney Bank as a commercial banker after they purchased Signature Bank in March of 2007. 

Then in September of 2008 Rob joined USAmeriBank as the Pinellas County Commercial Banking Team leader.  In addition to managing the team, he consistently led the C&I group in loan, deposit, & fee income, culminating in a banking portfolio consisting of over $120MM in loans and $92MM in deposits.

After 6 years with USAmeriBank, Rob had the opportunity to join NorthStar Bank in August of 2014 as their Pinellas County Market President.  In 2016 he took on the responsibilities of Senior Lender and Chief Operations Officer where he was responsible for all bank operations, building commercial and personal banking relationships, representing the Bank in the community, & shaping strategy and vision for long term growth.  Following the sale of NorthStar Bank to Seacoast Bank in October of 2017 Rob now serves as the Commercial Bank Team Leader for Pinellas County.

Rob is a founding and current board member of MCC of Tampa Bay, Inc. (MCC), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals throughout the greater Tampa Bay area by leveraging its relationships with the local cycling, triathlon, and general fitness community via targeted fundraising initiatives under the “Crank-Out” rallying slogan.  Rob is also an active member of the Morton Plant Mease Board Finance Committee.   Additionally, Rob is a multi-year past Chairman and participant in the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year Selection Committee.  He has supported the Tampa Bay Ride to Defeat ALS and served on various boards to include the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Clearwater Branch of the YMCA of the Suncoast.  He is a past award recipient of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2009 Up and Comers award.
