Lauren St. Germain
Lauren St. Germain is a familiar face on morning news! She anchors the weekend morning show on ABC Action News and contributes to the weekday show by doing live reports around the Tampa Bay area to helping viewers navigate morning traffic.
Starting this summer, Lauren is taking on a brand new role! She’ll be dancing for charity when she puts on her dancing shoes to represent WFTS TV – ABC Action News in the 2018 competition of Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars. She grew up dancing (not ballroom!) and is incredibly excited to be back on the stage for a great cause – raising money for local non-profits. She believes non-profit organizations are not only the backbone of our community, but also where some of the best stories are found. “People give selflessly of themselves, to help others better their lives," explains Lauren.
In addition to her work at ABC Action News, Lauren is a coach for Girls on the Run, which is a national non-profit teaching girls healthy lifestyles and self-respect through a running program. Serving as a coach for several years, Lauren has been involved with Girls on the Run in Florida and Tennessee! In a world with so much negativity, Lauren says this is her chance “to serve as a positive influence, especially to the younger generation.” Lauren grew up in Massachusetts, earned a psychology degree from Boston University, and has lived in the Southeast, where she can enjoy sunshine and the outdoors all year round, ever since.
