Bikers Against Child Abuse, B.A.C.A, exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. If circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, WE STAND AT THE READY TO BE THAT OBSTACLE.

Habitat Pinellas’ program addresses the affordable housing issue by serving qualified homeowner candidates in the 30 – 80 percent area median income range. Not a government or a giveaway program, homeowner candidates work to build their home and the homes of others amassing 350-450 hours of “sweat equity” in partnership with other candidates and volunteers from across the Bay Area. Additionally, homeowners complete 16 classes that range from Being a Good Neighbor and Understanding My Mortgage Documents to Home Maintenance and Financial Education 1, 2 and 3. Once their home is completed they purchase it with a 30 year zero interest mortgage. These payments are then reinvested and combined with contributions from organizations like Hands Across the Bay, allowing Habitat to continue the construction of future homes, thus leaving a perpetual legacy for each homeowner.

Pepin Academies are tuition-free; charter schools committed to creating professional learning communities through innovative practices to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities.  Serving more than 1,000 students in Hillsborough and Pasco counties, our mission at Pepin Academies is “to create a high intensity, low threat therapeutic learning community that celebrates the gifts of every student. We strive to break the destructive cycle of learned helplessness by finding their academic strengths and abilities, and making social skills a top priority.”  Our outstanding faculty provide our students with the education and life skills necessary to go on to post-secondary education and/or work opportunities.  Pepin Academies also offers a transitional work program for students 18-22 to provide them with real-life work experience and partners with many major companies in the Tampa Bay area.
